GREY LAG REACHES LOUISVILLE KY KYLOUISVILLE LOUISVILLE Ky May 2 Sunday was a quiet day at Churchill Downs trainers giving their charges nothing more than exercise gallops The exception was J S Hawkins who sent his Derby candidate Firebrand a mile and a quarter in 207 Aside from this workout the principal matter of interest was the arrival of the Rancocas Stable Derby candidate Grey Lag which reached here in charge of Dave Leary The absence of Inchcape occasioned no surprise as recent reports from the East indicated that the colt would not stand train ¬ ing at least in time for the big race Leary said that Hildreth has Grey Lag in grand condition and expects the son of Star Shoot to give a good account of himself in the Derby DerbyOther Other arrivals Sunday were Leonardo II and Bon Homme representing J W McClellands Xalapa Farm E R Bradleys Black Servant and Behave Yourself and twelve other racers from the same stable were unloaded Black Servant is re ¬ garded as a real contender in the Derby as a result of his splendid performance at Lexington Saturday SaturdayHenry Henry McDaniel trainer for Commander J K L Ross yesterday telegraphed superintendent Tom Young to reserve a stall for Star Voter JL week ago the reservation was canceled but the wire from Havre de Grace indicates that Commander Ross still has hopes of annexing Derby honoru and that Star Voter has been selected to represent the Montreal turfman
