LATANE WILL RULE ON LICENSING BALTIMORE Md May 10 Commissioner Janif A Latani tlie new member of the Maryland Rac ¬ ing ConiMiisison has betii giving serious considera ¬ tion to flic vcxod question of whether or not tin commission should issue licenses to jockeys and trainers trainersMr Mr Latane hail a lengthy interview with Gov ¬ ernor Ritchie Friday when this and other racing problems were discussed and the commissioner in ¬ timates a desire to reopen the matter and give a deflate decision within a few days daysTli Tli retrictions around the licensing provisions which it is understood Mr Latane will insist on probably will include a scheme for the exchange of information with other turf authorities Such an exchange relative to penalties imposed on jock ¬ eys and trainers would be necessary if the Mary ¬ land Commission is to keep crooked track employes out of thu state The New York Jockey Club the Kentucky Racing Commission and the Canadian track authorities now exchange such information informationMaryland Maryland sends information concerning the penal ¬ ties she imposes to all other authorities but so far Havana Tijuana and Canada are the only track that have exhibited a desire to reciprocate reciprocateThe The New York Jockey Club acknowledged receipt of information from Maryland but made no mention of reciprocity Kentucky has not yet replied
