LATONIA IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETED CINCINNATI O May 31 Louisvilles advance contingent arriving at Latonia today was a large one some coming on the regular trains but the majority arriving on the railroad special Arrivals of horses were also numerous and included the stables of C W Clark John Lowe E Cebrian M Lowonstoin and Lloyd Gentry These came by ex ¬ press and a twentycar special with horses left Ixmisvillo at noon which will reach the chute at Latonia late in the afternoon afternoonTrack Track superintendent Larry Borgenscbot has ap ¬ plications for 1108 stalls and he expects when the thirtyone days meeting beginning next Saturday is under way that there will bo 1000 horses on the grounds ready to go to the post in the dashes that their owners may elect to start them in inThe The improvements that have been made since tho close last autumn will afford 25000 visitors a chance to view the races in comfort and with a little crowding 15000 additional spectators can be taken care of The chief improvements on the plant were made to the grandstand clubhouse and lawn A promenade with four terraces will enable thousands to get a good view of the raciiK something they could not do formerly on account of the flat low level of tho lawn lawnThe The stairways in front of the stand also have been removed and the stairs leading to the upper part of the structure placed on the Inside There is an abundance of these stairs removiiig possibility of congestion The many other improvements have transformed the Latonia plant into a state unknown to former visitors visitorsOnly Only minor details remain to complete the Im ¬ provements and everything will be In thorough order for the opening next Saturday
