FORTYEIGHTYEAROLD JOCKEY RIDES NEW YORK N Y June 25 When the jockeys were posted for the steeplechase at Atiueduct Friday the name of W Henry opposite the number to be carried by Subnhdar on his saddle pad meant little or nothing to the crowd assembled aside from the fact that the trainer of the horse apparently was going to ride him This in itself was not an unusual proceeding but there was an interesting little circumstance in this instance Willium H Henry is fortyeight years old and fifteen or more years ago enjoyed the same sort of reputation for efficiency for tiding over the obstacles as the Powers the Crawfords and the Beyers at the present day dayThe The last mount Henry rode before yesterdays per ¬ formance was his own Overseer which he piloted to victory in the Meadowbrook Cup about seven years ngo Even that effort was in the nature of a comeback for he quit riding as a regular thing in 1910 Henry began riding in 1891 finishing second with his first mount at the Country Club Brookline Mass MassHenry Henry did not win a portion of the roney Friday but Kxle a good race
