MY GRACIE WINS, BUT IS INJURED MONTREAL, Que., July 12. Being severely kicked while at the post and suffering much early interference My Gracie again displayed her quality by shouldering top weight of 122 pounds and capturing the King Edward Handicap at the island course this afternoon. Coming through on the inside entering the stretch the mare held her opponents safe and Avon by a comfortable margin. First Pullet finished with fine speed and outgamed the early leader, Marmite, for second place. It was a rather costly victory for the owner of the sterling mare, as My Gracie cooled out lame, the result of a kick on the stifle. A long shot in Glenn won the opener in ensy fashion. Arbitrator was home first in the secoad after a spirited duel with Lewis B., while Miss Holland held sway by a comfortable margin at all stages of the third race for Canadian-owned horses. The majority of the remaining races were productive of rousing finishes. The conditions were favorable and a good mid-weekday crowd was in attendance. The horse Hay, which was stolen during Friday night from Delorimier Park, has been recovered by the police and returned to his owner. He was located at the stock yards, five mjles from the track from which he was stolen, where preparations were being made to ship the horse to some outside point. All efforts have failed to locate the thief.
