TULWAR gradually improved her position while racing on the outside and was wearing the winner down at the finish. MAGGIE MURPHY, a prominent contender throughout, slipped through next to the rail when entering the stretch and made a game finish, but was in close quarters in the final sixteenth. HYPERBOLE tired in the last eighth and had no mishaps. SUXNYHILL, after being under slight restraint in the early running, steadily improved his position when called on and took the lead after entering the stretch and although swerving out in the last eighth outstayed EPISODE in the linal drive. EPISODE rated into the lead on the backstretch, but could not withstand the winners challenge. GLOOMY GUS raced prominently throughout.
