YANKEE MAID was outrun to the stretch, but finished with a rush into a fast going second: MODO began slowly and made up considerable ground on the outside. LEGHORN saved ground- on the turn for home and threatened the leaders in the stretch, but tired. ROCKET closed a gap. DRAFT tired. MISDEAL can do much better. PIIALARIS. after racing under slight restraint, tool: the lead when KNIGHT OF TUB HEATHER tired at the sixteenth post, but could not withstand the winner. RANTRY closed a gap and finished fastest, of all. KNIGHT OF THE HEATHER tired and quit after setting a fast pace to the last eighth. DORCAS, practically left, made up ground and then tired. HIFF RANG ran a good race and took the lead on the last turn, but gave way when challenged. SIR GRAFTON closed a gap and, coming fast through the stretch, outstayed LECLAIR. The latter raced gamely all the way. COURTSHIP set a fast pace, but uit in the last quarter. SUNNYLAND also quit and ran a bad race. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,005 and bought in.
