BLACK SERVANT IS BEATEN 1 , Races Gallantly, but Gives Way to His Weight Finally. ! Bygone Days a Going Away Tgctor Clansman Develops Speed Suddenly. KK.VILWOKTH. Out., July 23. C. J. Broekniil-lers three-year-old gelding Bygone Days was the victor of the Windsor City Handicap, a dash of a mile and a sixteenth, which was the feature of the card at the Kenilworth track this afternoon. P.r.ck of the son of Helmet finished Golden Sphere, with P.lack Servant taking the small end of the money. A field of seven went to the post for the dash, with the Bradley starter, despite his unreasonable impost, again installed the choice. The. start was a good one and Black Servant again elected to go to the front, closely pursued by Jean Corey and, after disposing of her. Butwell moved nil with Golden Sphere. The winner in the meantime had been reserved behind the leaders and. gradually improving his position, was taken to the outside when entering the stretch. Closing up with a fine display of speed and gameness, he passed the leaders Avith a rush and was going away at the end. The race had 3,000 added and the route was covered in 1:15. While the wagering bad been in progress on the third race the stewards permitted trainer John Schorr to scratch K. B. McLeans Saddle and Boots, rtie colt was suffering from a slight attack of coughing and while in the paddock developed fever. An examination showed that he had a temperature of 103. James B. Brown, which had been installed an odds-on favorite, was a disappointment when second was his portion behind Clansman. The latter was one of the longest priced winners of the meeting and had been, running bad races. A dash of a mile and a sixteenth brought together a speedy band under claiming conditions in the fifth race, and added another victory - to the score of J. C. Gallaher, when Kinbnrn was returned the winner from Belario and King John. Kinbnrn was in front all the way and withstood several threatening challenges to win going away. Jockey K. Taylor was the victim of a painful accident this morning, that will keep him out of the saddle for some time. While schooling the Canadian-bred two-year-old Shoulder Arms at the barrier the colt swerved into the fenee and Taylor suffered a dislocated ankle. He was removed to a local hospital anil an x-ray examination was taken. The city of Hamilton Out., boasts of supplying three of the leading lightweight riders at the course, namely. C. Lang, T. Brooks and L. McDer-mott. Gantner is doing his share to hold up the prestige of south of the bonier. J. W. Bean has decided to send the. two-year-old filly All Fair to his farm at Silver Springs, Md.. where she will enter the stud. The older division of horses at present quartered at the farm, including Arrah Go On. Silver Springs and two others, will be taken up for the fall racing in Maryland. AVord was received from Lieut.
