MAIS0NNEUVE PARK MEETING AT END MONTREAL. Qui;.. July !. After being outrun by Diocletian to the stretch Raineau moved up with a fine display of courage and speed to pass Stepson in a driving finish to win the Oxford Purse, the fourth and main race of the concluding days sport at Maisonneiive Park this afternoon. During the running of the nice Diocletian was jumped upon and cut so badly just above the bock that he will be out of commission for some time. Pretty Baby, winner of the third race, suffered in a similar way. but Iter injury is not as serious as that of Diocletian. The second race fell to No Trumps, probably for the reason that Efficient threw a shoe and ran to the extreme outside while leading at the first turn. Despite the extreme heat, the largest mid-week day crowd of the meeting witnessed the sport. For rough riding in the first race jockey R. Ball was set down for ten days. J. Whyte has shipped All Smoke to Hamilton. W. S. Campbell and A. E. Watts have dissolved partnership. Campbell has taken Avion and Fox-iiaven to Toronto, while AVatts will continue to campaign Sain Rose on the local course. II. E. Davis departs tonight for a try ou the big Canadian circuit. He shipped Stepson and Fire-worth to Hamilton.
