FINE OUTLOOK FOR WOODBINE Total of 20,000 to Be Distributed in Stakes and Purses During Seven Racing Days. TORONTO, Ont., September 17. W. P. Fraser, secretary of the Ontario Jockey Club, is enthusiastic over the prospects for fall racing nt Woodbine Park. The coming meeting promises to be greater than ever this fall, when during the seven days of racing 20,000 will be distributed in stakes and purses. Or this amount 7,000 will be added to the steeplechases, one being provided for each day of the meeting. The climax will come on Saturday, October 1, the closing day of the meeting, when there will be run the Ontario Jockey Club Cup at two miles and a quarter, with ,000 added; the Grey Stakes, one mile, ,000 added; Hcndrie Memorial Steeplechase, two miles and a half, ,000 added; Durham Cup, one and three-quarters miles with ,000 added, and three overnight races with purses of ,500 each, which brings tiie total distribution of the Ontario Jockey Club for that day to 7,000. The Toronto Autumn Cup is one of the famous fixtures of the Ontario Jockey Club course and includes among its winners such fine horses as Claude, Plate Glass. Star Charter, Great Britain, Rancher and the greatest of all present-day long-distance racers, the redoubtable Exterminator. The latter will try for it again this year. All the stakes have been well patronized and with the tempting prizes offered it is certain that there will be no shortage of high-class racing material.
