SPION KOP AND LEMONORA RETIRED LONDON, England, September 19. Major Giles Loders four-year-old bay colt Spion Kop, by Spearmint Hammer Kop, by Gallinulc, by Reverberation Concussion, has been leased to Lord Roseberys stud for the entire 1922 season. His book is already full at a fee of i30. Joseph Watsons Lemonora, ch. c, 3, by Lemberg Honora, by Gallinulc, by Saraband Word of Honour, has also been sent to the stud, as it was found impossible for him to recover from the effects of the jarring he received on the brick-hard course in France in the early summer. Lemonora won the Grand Prix de Paris at Long-champs on June 25 and brought fame, glory and profit to his owner. The track at Longchamps was described as being about the same as a macadam road and the ill effects of racing over a course of this nature Lave been noticeable in all his subsequent work.
