Won driving; second and third the same. LADY BALTIMORE, away fast, set a great pace and, saving ground when entering the stretch, easily raced BAYONNK into defeat and drew away, but had to be hard ridden to withstand SANTA CLARAS challenge. The latter began slowly and was forced to come wide 011 the turn, but made a fast finish and was gaining in the last strides. BAYONNE. prominent in the early running, tired, but easilv held CHKWINK safe. The latter was hard ridden for the entire race. COPPER DEMON was saved under slight restraint in the- early running and. saving much grund on the last turn, raced into the lead in the stretch and won going away. FRIGATE, well ridden, raced on the outside nearly throughout and hnished with a belated rush through the stretcli. CURFEW raced in nearest pursuit to the stretch and tired, but outstayed TODY. YANKEE STAR saved ground when entering the stretch and finished, fast .ind gamely. MODO was shullled back in the lirst eighth, but gradually improved his position, on the inside and Outstayed SURF RIDER. The latter raced in a forward position for the entire race, but was tiring at the end. SWEEP BY finished resolutely. COLUMN was eased up when beaten. SANTA CLAUS closed up steadily and easily outfmished SCOTTISH CHIEF. The latter set the early pace and was hard ridden all the way, but tired in the last quarter. SALLTn and VIC were badly outpaced.
