MAJOR PARKE was a forward contender all the way. LAST ONE was eased up when lie tired. FAIR GAIN began flat-footed. YORKIST closed a big gap and finished fast. Won driving; second and third the same. MARBLE, under slight restraint, was in close pursuit of ELEMENTAL to the stretch turn, where he raced to the front and outfinished STACY ADAMS. The latter was cut off soon after the start and made a threatening challenge at the eighth post, but tired after getting to the leader. TUSH PIN was a forward contender all the way. CANDIDATE II. jumped well "and came fast in the last sixteenth. SEA TALE began slowly and lost ground by going wide at some of the fences, but finished well. WITCH FLOWER was knocked about and finally was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished fast. RECONNAISSANCE finished gamely after dropping back in the early running. EXTERMINATOR was saved under slight restraint until well around the far turn, where he began to move up on the outside and, racing into the lead in the stretch, held it gamely when MY DEAR challenged in the last eighth. The latter ran a fine race and was gaining slowly on the winner with every stride. GOLDEN SPHERE set a fast middle pace, but tired in the stretch. BONIFACE began slowly and was far back in the early running, but was passing tiring horses and coming fast in the stretch. INCOG ran an excellent race. REGISTRAR quit after setting a fast early pace. JIM PETRIE set a fast early pace and tired in the stretch, but held on long enough to outstay JUNE FLY. The latter closed a big gap and finished with a rush. ANM ITT also finished with a tremendous rush. CHIEF SPONSOR tired after taking the lead in the stretch. SALVATELLE stumbled and lost her rider on the first turn. The latter closed a great gap and came with a -bcinted rush through the homestretch to finish fastest of all. GREENLAND raced forwardly all the way and finished well.
