WOODBINE9 S GLORIOUS RACING ONTARIO JOCKEY CLUBS AUTUMN MEETING A BIG SUCCESS-- OVER 00,000 DISTRIBUTED DURING SEVEN DAYS OF RACING The popularity of racing as conducted by the Ontario Jockey Club at its beautiful race course, Woodbine Park, was strikingly illustrated Saturday when 30,000 people, including the Governor General of Canada, Lord Byng, and many prominent in government, commercial and social circles, witnessed the decision-of the imposing program that brought to an end the autumn meeting of Canadas foremost racing organization. The liberal policy of the club is attested to by the distribution of 118,070 during the seven days of racing, the average daily distribution amounting to 6,867. The reward came in the participation in the racing of not only the most prominent of Canadian stables, but also representation from a number of the foremost stables of the United States. The high quality of the horses at Woodbine was reflected in the line sport provided, which in turn was responsible in attracting the big crowds that were seen in daily attendance. The Ontario Jockey Club is to be congratulated over the success of such a Slorious meeting, which catered to tiie best by providing the best. Commander J. K. L. Ross powerful stable figured conspicuously in the racing and met with a goodly measure? of success, winning nine races, finishing second ih six and third in seven, the monetary reward amounting to .9,490.
