STAKE RACES TO BE RUN AT EMPIRE NEW YORK, N. Y., October 7. The final meeting of the year on the metropolitan track- will be held at Empire City from October 17 to October 29. For the seven stakes to be decided at the Yonkers meeting a total of 370 nominations have been received and they Include the topnotchers of the various divisions. The prospects are that more horses of the tetter class will race at Empire this fall than ever before. The order of the running of the stakes is as follows: Scarsdale Handicap, for all ages; 1 mile; Monday, October 17. Hartsdale Stakes, for 2-year-olds; about 8-4 mile; Tuesday. October 18. Rainbow Selling Stakes, for 2-year-olds; about 3-4 mile; Thursday, October 20. Pelham Bay Hnndicap, for 3-year-olds and over; 1 1-8 miles; Saturday, October 22. Autumn Day Stakes, for 2-year-olds; 5 1-2 furlongs; Monday, October 24. Ardsley Handicap, for 2-year-olds; about 3-4 mile; Thursday, October 27. . , Yorktowu Handicap, for 3-year-olds and over; 1 1-4 miles; Saturday, October 29.
