WORLD WIDE KNOWN TURFMAN DEAD An internationally known veteran sportsman, WUiam H. Cheppu, died suddenly from acute indigestion on Tuesday at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. Mr. Cheppu was seventy-five years old and; was apparently in good health. Fifteen years ago , he managed the racing stable of the late W. K. Yanderbilt, which campaigned in England and France. Prior to that he raced in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In 1887 Mr. Cheppu, in partnership with D. T. Pulsifer, bought a yearling named Tenney, which became famous in racing circles in those days.
