J 1 1 1 : 1 1 1 . 1 HORSE SALE AT EMPIRE CITY Anna M. Brings Top of ,000 Consistent Genie W. Goes to M. J. Murphy for ,600. XEW YORK, X. Y., October 28. The sale of the horses of Thomas Monahan, and offerings from other stables placed at Empire City this afternoon by the Fasig-Tipton Company, was not marked by active bidding or high prices. Monahans two-year-old filly Anna M., by Light Brigade Rugosa, brought the top price, going to R. J. Horner for ,000. John Whalens four-year-old filly Genie W., daughter of Star Shoot Pamela, which has been a consistent winner this year, brought the next highest price. She was sold to R. O. Miller, acting for the account of M. J. Murphy, for ,000. Most of the other horses placed on sale were of the cheaper grade and were bought up by owners strengthening their stables for winter racing.
