February 2.".— Drop Leaf, Maiden Hair, Plaudia and Bed Buff, four mares ; belonging to Thomas Fortune Ryan, arrived here . this morning from Oakridge, Va., to he mated with Upset at Short Grass Farm. The latest foal at Short Grass Farm is a chestnut filly by Pennant — Gentlewoman. At the sum-farm Joseph Marrones Vena Fair has a bay filly by Short Grass. Thus far this season there are nine foals at Short Grass Farm, and Emil Her/, says there isnt a hand-omer foal in the state than the colt by Short Grass — Ma Claire.
