1 1 | MEXICANS TAKE TO RACING Organize New Association and Hold Meetings Three Times a Week at Condesa. The forty days of racing held at the Hippodrome de la Deaden in Mexico Git.v under Americun asapirei has left its hare behind in the Mexican capital. Racine has been taken up by the Assn- cialion of Charm, a social and sporting organisation of wealthy Mexicans, and meetings are held at the Condesa cour-e Thursdays. Saturdays ami Sundays. For the purpose of conducting this racing venture the Condesa Racing Association has been or- ganized and B. R. Bryson. who was connected with the Jockey Club lntermiciotial de Mexico, which conducted the regular season lli«re, has been engaged to supervise the framing of the program and other details. A program of six races run on March 12 at the Condesa course shows something of the character of the sport as now conducted there. The first race is listed as a Charros Cup race at catch weights. Seven horses were named, all native-breds apparently, and altogether unfamiliar to racing followers here. In the second race, however, a number of the .American thoroughbreds shipped to Mexico City for tin- meeting there were entries. These were sold to afexleaaa at the close of the meeting and include: Lady Sue. My Friend Pat. Impost, Alma. Soarpia II. and Cazador. The weights assigned to thesH poor platers are of handicap proportions. Lady Sue gets 131 and the lowest weight in the race is 121. The six races range from I quarter-mile in the Charm race to five and a half furlongs in the last two on the card. The feature, the Princess Hotel Cup. had seven entries, each of which curried 147 pounds. Some of tile American horses noted among the entries which were not mentioned previously are: S|ieed. War Bond, Far Sight, Maddlsou II.. Firstling. Ormlos, Fog Horn. Gus Enloe. Willdo, Yakimene. Zealous. Belcebu. Thos. F. McMahoii. P.rookfield. Foreclosure. Falcon II., Hillandale, Oli Doctor.
