TOROXTO, Ont., April 14.— The Ontario Jockey Club has announced the list of stake races to be run at the spring meeting at Woodbine Park, which close for entries May P.. From a monetary standpoint it is the most valuable array of fixtures ever of- I fered in Canada. During the seven days meeting this spring the money offered for flat racing and steeplechasing total the magnificent sum of 19,000. Truly this is a great incentive to encourage horse breeding in Canada. As usual the Toronto Cup heads the list with 0,000 added. This is followed by the Connaught Cup, ,000 added, for Canadian-owned horses ; the King Edward Gold Cup, ,000 added ; William Hendrie Memorial, c ,000 added, for three-year-olds and over, z foaled in Canada ; Woodstock Plate, ,000 c added, for three-year-olds ; Victoria Stakes, i ,000 added, for two-year-olds ; Coronation Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-olds foaled * in Canada ; Street Railway Steeplechase, ,000 added, two and a half miles ; in all, eight stakes with 5,000 added, ,000 being the lowest value. x There will also be run during the meeting £ handicaps and other events of ,500 and 7 7 ,000.
