i I ] , . 1 , j ; j | WESTERN WAVE DROPS DEAD ■ •] LONDON. England, April 2.— Western Wave dropped dead after running his last race in India about a month ago. Bred by i Mr. Joseph Kyan in County Limerick, Ire- land, and foaled on April 11, 1916, he was a J chestnut colt, by Prospector — Star of Eve, by the American-bred Star of Hanover, from Coiffure, by Truefit. Sold as a yearling at J Phoenix Park for only 00, he won a couple of races in Ireland as a two-year-old for Mr. W. M. Savill, and also scored twice in Eng- j land for the same gentleman ere being sold I during the Newmarket Houghton week of 5 1919 to Mr. E. Whineray for ?9,300. i For his new owner he won four events, * worth in all 4,420, in 1920, including the Salford Borough Handicap and Goodwood Stewards Cup. and in the autumn of the same year he was sold at a good figure to r go to India. Galway Gate, a younger brother to Western Wave, was also sold that sea- son for 5.00., and he, too, went to India. .
