NEW YORKS OPINION OF IT Approves Chicago City Councils Invitation to Exhibit Unbeaten Morvich in This City NEW YORK N Y May 30 Those with the best interests of the turf at heart every ¬ where are congratulating the city council of Chicago in its efforts to have Benjamin Block show his unbeaten Morvich in that city during the Pageant of Progress The invitation was decided upon unanimously and it tends to show the feeling of the city fathers toward the turf and the thorough ¬ bred horse Morvich is a real American as a study of his blood lines will testify and he properly belongs in the Pageant of Progress He tells conclusively of tho progress in the breeding of horses in this country countryA A Morvich a Man o War or a champion like old Exterminator will do more for rac ¬ ing and the thoroughbred industry than any ¬ thing else The mere showing of such a horse in Chicago would be tha best sort of missionary work looking to a resumption of racing there These horses are all public idols though Man o War has been retired to the stud There are horses whose names will always be bright spots in the history of the American turf and they are even more for men and women who have no turf interests whatever are interested in these horses Their patriotism gives them the interest Each horse is an American institution and each tells of what can be done In the rearing of the best horses in the world right here on our own broad fertile acres acresChicago Chicago once one of the best American racing centers has not forgotten the thor ¬ oughbred and racing should be brought there to be on the plane it was on during the days of old Washington Park Not only does Chicago want to see Morvich but all who are for the American turf and all it rep ¬ resents also want Mr Block to accept the j invitation of the Chicago city council and send his champion out there to do his part in bringing back the greatest of all sports
