FINAL DAY AT HAMILTON HAMILTON, Ont., July 3. The Dominion Handicap, offered as the feature attraction of the getaway card this afternoon at Hamilton, resulted in a Aictory for A. V. Thomas Yowell, ridden by J. Williams, from J. K. L. Ross Sudor, with Salvo third. The start was a good one and, rounding the first turn, Kings Court was sent to the front and he drew away into a long lead, closely pursued by El Jesmar, with Rex Gaiety third. There was but little change in the positions until the far turn was reached, where there Avas a general closing up. Turner found an opening next to the inside rail and sent Sudor through, and she cut down the advantage, while AAilliams elected to come to the outside with Yowell. The latter closed resolutely in the final eighth and drew clear. The race Avas a dash ot a mile and an eighth, with an added Aalue of ,000, netting the AVinner ?1,CS0. Vowell was the faAorite and the A-ictory was a popular one Avith the public. The weather conditions were cloudy and threatening and had a depressing effect on the crowd, Avhich fell off considerably from the Saturday attendance. The track was in good condition and improved throughout the afternoon. M. C. Kelly, trainer of the J. W. Bean and B. Harding Stables, will remain here until Saturday then ship to Windsor to engage in the meeting at that point. Jockey IT. Thurber has been corifir;ed in a local hospital for the last week, siffenng from bronchial pneumonia. The boy is slowing improvement. Smarty, due to soreness, was excused from the last race by the stewards. Wm. Martin has taken over thf SKgr-ge-ment book of jockey Kenneth Parringtt r for the Thorncliffe for outside mounts. G. C. Milton, at private terms, this morn- ing sold to F. P. Robie the plater Straight Shot and By Heck to Silas A7eitch, acting for C. K- Harrison Jr. Trainer J. H. Smith will ship the Vulcain Stable horses to Fort Erie and it the conclusion of that meeting to Empire ity. R. Pending purchased from R Hlrres, acting for J. AV. Healy, the jumper Aigardi, which will be shipped to Timontum, Md.
