FEOGrEESS made in REBUILDING TANFOEAN SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., July 15. Tilings at Tanforan are being whipped into shape in good fashion, and while there is not s.j much on the ground to show for the early efforts, directors of the Pacific Coast Jockey Club are well satisfied with the work. Pians for a grandstand to accommodate 10,000 people have already been drawn and were submitted to a meeting of the board of directors recently held to consider that important matter. At the same time bids were cpancd for the construction of eleven 3tahles that, all told, will be capable of accommodating 3SS horses. These stables ought to be put up in speedy fashion, so that shortly those owners who wish to may have their thoroughbreds on the ground for training. The grandstand, as previously announced, will be on the highway side of the track, directly across the track from the old stands, which were built to take advantage of the street car and Southern Pacific lines that many years ago hauled the spectators from San Francisco. There has been some feeling that the space between the track and the highway edge of the property was not sufficiently wide to take care of the stands ; but the architect, who has carefully gone over the situation, states there should be no anxiety on that score. The track is fairly well on Its way to completion, and the boundary fences high board affairs that will effectually shut out the sightseers who might like to watch results without paying an admission charge are being built. j j
