TIIORNIIEDGE, off forwardly, raced close up under restraint until well into the stretch, where he took the lead with a rush and won easing up. MOODY lacked early speed, but raced next to the inner rail all the way and, saving much ground, finished with n rush. TICACEY waB a forward contender throughout, but was forced extremely wide when entering the stretch. CONSORT began slowly and closed a big gap. ORNCS qnit In the stretch. TEN-I.EC let a fast pace and raced into a long lead la the first half mile, but was taken extremely wide on the turii3 and tired when challenged. ROUTLKDGE ran a good race, finished gamely and outstayed ST. ALLAN in the final drive. ST. AIJAN showed speed and was hard ridden, but tired in the last eighth. VIGIL moved up fast on the outside on the last turn, but tired in the last eighth. liO McMlLLAN and WILLIAM TELL were taken under restraint in the stretch when beaten. LETTERMAN, under slight restraint in the early running, saved ground on the turns and finished gamely, but could not over-lake the leader. FIRM FRIEND raced into a long esrly lead under restraint, but tired badly after going a mile and forced HEIHAISTOS wide when tfntering the stretch and bumped him, for which he was disqualified.
