LATEST KENTUCKY GOSSIP Ship Horses from Loxington to Louisyille for Summer Training. LEXINGTON, Ky., July 17. John Lowe and Jake Lowenstein came over today from Louisville and shipped back five thoroughbreds to go into training at Douglas Parle Lowe shipped the two-year-old Enrico, by Luke McLuke Micaela, which he recently purchased from J. O. and G. H. Keene, and the yearling bay filly by Escoba Umbrel, by Uncle, which he purchased last month trorn Hal Price Hcadley. Lowenstein shipped the two-year-old filly Dress Up, by Uncle Alara, dam of Settle, and two yearling chestnut fillies, which he and his brother, Mcse, bred and raised. One is by Campfire Amen, dam of Edna Stack, and the other is by At-well Birka, dam of Bill OFlynn. Lowe has had some sick horses, but he says they now are rounding to and will be in good condition for autumn racing. Former United States Senator Joseph W. Bailey, en route from his home in Texas to Washington, stopped off here from Thursday until this morning to see his farm and horses. He has five attractive yearlings, but he has not definitely decided whether he will train them or sell them privately. He would prefer to train and race them had he other horses in sufficient number to justify his employing a trainer and jockey exclusively. Two of his youngsters are by The Finn, one by Hessian, one by Mont dOr and one by Cataract. J. O. Keene, general manager of the Tri-state Fair and Racing Association, after spending Sunday at his farm, returned last night to the site of the new racecourse in Greenup County, near Ashland. He reported progress in the building of the plant and says it will be ready for racing at the close of the Latonia meeting next fall unless there should be unexpected delay due to the railroad strike. Robert H. Shannon left here this morning for Latonia with Postlude and four yearlings which are to go into training. The yearlings are a bay colt, brother to Marvin May, by McGee Conclusion ; a bay colt, brother to Robert Bradley, by McGee Lady Quex; brown filly, by McGee Mirror, and chestnut filly by Frizzle from a daughter of McGee.
