B. Creech provided two of the winners at Exposition Park this afternoon in Marion Hollins and Fond Hope. Marion Hollins scored an easy victory over some shifty sprinters in the fifth race, which attracted the best field of the day. Huron II., the popular choice in the race, was bumped and knocked sideways at the start, after which he displayed little of his accustomed speed. ! Fond Hope led throughout in the second race and won with speed to spare, as did Louie Lou in the opening dash. The best finish of the day came with the running of the third race, in which Major Domo barely lasted to win in a driving finish from Wodan and Laughing Eyes II. Racing in the colors of his new owners Webbs El Captania defeated a mediocre band in the fourth race. Other horses to race in new interests today were Blue Star for J. W. Pinkham, Shoreacres for J. OSm-livan, King Worth for E. D. Vorak. Priscclla Greenway for O. J. Grau and Trackstar for iteed. The track, although drying out" rapidly, was slow, following a heavy rain last night but the weather was perfect and another large crowd turned out to witness the sport. Jockey T. Rae escaped injury when his mount. Starry Banner, fell after going the first quarter of the third race. Judge Joseph A. Murphy departed tonight for Chicago on important business in connection with the opening of the meeting at Hawthorne Park September 30. Later he will go to Windsor. F. W. Gerhardy will arrive here tomorrow to serve as presiding judge during the remainder of the meeting.
