OMAHA FALL RACING PLANS LEXINGTON, Ky., August 24. Judge John T. Ireland will preside at the Ak-Sar-Ben fall races at Omaha, Neb., September 12 to 23. William Dondas will be in charge. Charles L. Trimble is racing secretary. There will be three running races daily throughout the first week, mixed with a harness program. The second week will be devoted entirely to the runners and there will be six or more races daily. The purses and conditions will be liberal and will afford horses going from eastern points to California an opportunity for rest and profit. Dondas today said Omaha is rapidly coming to the front as a racing center, due to the fact that the most influential citizens are becoming enthusiastic about the sport. Edward Peterson, one of the most popular men in Nebraska, is chairman of the State Racing Commission, the other members being F. J. Gould, a foremost breeder of light harness horses, and N. J. Ronin, who is the secretary.
