EVELYN SAWYER steadily improved her position under good riding and outfinished AVALANCHE in the final drive. AVALANCHE was hard ridden for the entire race and was tiring at the end. PRIMA DONNA raced well. HILL-HOUSE tired badly in the final eighth. The winner entered for ,500, was bid up to ,205 and bought in. Won easily; second and third driving. .MUSKALLONGE raced NOSE DIVE into defeat in the first quarter and, taking the lead, drew away after entering the stretch and was eased up at the finish. SEDGEFIELD began slowly, but saved ground on the stretch turn and, finishing gamely, outstayed COSTIGAN in the final drive. COSTIGAN moved up rapidly while rounding the last turn and made a game effort to overtake the winner, but tired in the final eighth. NOSE DIVE set the early pace, but tired after going three-quarters. ADVOCATE was unable to improve his position. RALCO ran poorly. Start good and slow. Won ridden out; second and third driving. FLY BY DAY, away forwardly, displayed excellent speed and, taking a small lead on the last turn, held it gamely in the final drive. BARBARY BUSH, an exceptionally good looker, and off well, showed a high flight of speed in leading for the first quarter and raced closely with his stable companion through the stretch. HEREMON, a prominent contender throughout, raced gamely and outfinished POW WOW in the final drive. POW WOW was forced to race wide all the way, but finished well and would have been third in another stride. GLENTILT showed speed in the early running. SAKAH began slowly and raced well.
