FALL RACING AT TOLEDO Eleven-Day Meeting at Driving Club Track Begins October 16 Officials Named. DETROIT, Mich., September G. Joseph A. Murphy today announced that the Toledo Jockey Club would stige a fall meeting of eleven days, commencing Monday, October 1G. This followed a conference with the Toledo Driving Club directors at Toledo Sunday. The Toledo Driving Club conducts the Grand Circuit harness races at the track, and the Jockey Club is working in closest harmony with it. The Driving Club will commence immediately the erection of a new fifty-stall barn, which will be ready for the running meeting. During the winter plans call for a social racing club, which will erect a clubhouse on the grounds for the use of members during the harness and running races. As Kenilworth will close October 7, and Chicago October 12, there will be plenty of horses within a few hours shipment of Toledo. A daily special train from Detroit to make the run in an hour and a quarter will also probably be chartered. Joseph A. Murphy, Fred W. Gerhardy and W. R. Norvell will act as stewards and judges; W. R. Norvell, racing secretary; George T. Miller, starter; William Becker, clerk of the scales, and John Carey, paddock judge.
