CALAMITY JANE showed the most early speed and, setting a fast pace, drew away into a safe lead in the final eighth, but her jockey was forced to ride her hard at the end to outstay TIPPITY WITCHET. The latter, after racing far back in the early running, was taken to the outside of the leaders on the stretch turn and finished witli a great rush. KNOT was under restraint for the fisrt half, but tired in the final drive .and ran much below her best form. WELLFINDER ran well and finished close up. CHAM-PLAIN ran a fast half and quit. MARIE BLANCTIE ran well, but came wide on the ytretih turn and losing ground- HEELTAPS lau a gcod race and was on the outside of the leaders in the final drive. SUN FEY was shuffled back at the start and closed a great gap. COMIXA showed speed, but quit in the final sixteenth. CHICKVALE began slowly. TOUCANA set a fast pace to the stretch and quit..
