Won easily; second and third driving. ROCKERY began slowly, but moved up rapidly next to the inside rail and taking the lead on the : last turn, drew nwav after entering the homestretch. FIRST WARD .closed an immense gap and finished willi a rush. PATCHWORK ran well, but had to be hard ridden to outstay VAN PATRICK. MACBETH quit. HIDDEN JEWEL set a fast pace and, racing ABLAZE into defeat in the first half, was going away through the last eighth. ABLAZE raced in nearest pursuit and made a game finish. WAKE UP began flatfootcd, but closed a big gap and finished fast. CAHALAN had a rough race and finished with a rush. BYNG fenced well and could never get to the leader, but was easily best of the others. DEPUTY VEST led for over a mile and was eased up when he tired.
