BROWN, away well, was saved close up behind the leaders for the first half and. saving ground when coming into the stretch, held TONY SUE safe throngh the final sixteenth. TONY SUE ran a good race and finished fast and gamely. MANICURE raced well, but was tiring at the end. LOUANNA ran as if sore, but closed a gap in the last quarter. GAMMER GURTON quit. Won driving; second and third the same. TROOPER raced under restraint for the first three-quarters, then moved up steadily and outstayed SWAY in a close finish. The latter showed the most speed and seemed the winner in the last eighth, but tired suddenly. HYANPOM came from far back in the stretch and outstayed LADY RACHEL through the last sixteenth. Won easily; second and third driving. GREAT JAZ, a speedy colt, raced into the lead with a rush and, setting a fast pace, won aU the way. GREEN SPRING raced prominently all the way, but was tiring through the last eighth and just lasted to save second place. BRADLEYS TONEY was outrun and seemed to be unable to get fully in his stride until well into the stretch, where he came fast and gamely. CASH retired after going well for five -eighths. Won easily; second and third driving. LADY CHAMP began fast and, showing fine speed, set a fast pace for the entire race and held ROULEAU safe through the stretch drive. ROULEAU was away poorly, due to the failure of an assistant starter to release him in time, but gained steadily and made a fast and game finish. CHERRY TREE saved ground when coming into the stretch and outstayed DARTMOOR. The latter ran well, but tired in the last eighth. The others had no mishaps.
