POOR SPORT, off forwardly, followed ADVENTURESS closely under slight restraint in the early running and, racing into the lead in the final eighth, won in a canter. PENNON, close up nil the way, came fast and gamely through the stretch and passed ADVENTURESS near the end. The latter ret a fast early pace, but tired in the final drive. BELPIIRIZONIA began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished gamely. TURBULENT raced well throughout. HILLHOUSE met with slight interference on the stretch turn. DUSTER was hard ridden. MISSIONARY moved up gamely after entering the stretch and easily passed SECOND THOUGHTS in the final eighth. SECOND THOUGHTS showed much early speed and iet a fast pace, but tired after going three-quarters. GOOD TIME saved ground on all the turns and ran a good race. DRY MOON, off forwardly, raced to his true form today and, after being saved under slight restraint, moved up fast on the outside after entering the stretch and, racing into the lead in the final sixteenth, won going away. CROCUS followed DEXTEROUS closely for the first half mile and took the lead with seeming ease, but tired badly when challenged. DEXTEROUS set a very fast pace in the early running and held on gamely in the stretch drive. ON WATCH raced gamely, but was unable to improve his position. BLAZES was outrun all the way. OUI OUI, running in vastly improved form, began forwardly and followed the leaders under slight restraint until midway of the stretch, then raced into a small lead, but was doing her best at the end to maintain her advantage. VIGIL made up ground and, finishing fast, was wearing the winner down in the final strides. MOONRAKER moved up menacingly on the stretch turn, but began to tire in the la3t eighth. FLY BY DAY raced in closest pursuit of CAROL in the early running and held on gamely in the final drive. CAROL displayed cxceUent early speed in pacemaking, but tired in the stretch and was in close quarters in the last sixteenth. DANIEL raced well. OSPREY began slowly. FOREST LORE began flatfootcd and had little chance. BUCADOS saddle slipped in the final quarter and he was palled up. ROUEN showed excellent speed and was under slight restraint in the early running, then took the lead, but his rider was unable to do him justice when he was forced to a drive. BETTY J. gradually improved her position and finished with a belated rush through the stretch. DOLLY C. raced gamely, but tired. ATTORNEY MUIR closed a gap. AUSTRAL finished gamely.
