Ellison. The standing price for McChesney is 5,000 and the offers were refused. Jockey Patsy Freeman, who has been riding in France for several years, arrived at Lexington, Ky., to visit his relatives before going to California to spend the winter. He returns to France next spring. W. CB. Macdonoughs Orfeo, two-year-old son of Orsini, took a good band of two-year-olds into camp over the Futurity course in the fourth race at Ingleside. Paying the juicy odds of 25 to 1 he beat The Major, the favorite, home in a driving finish. The fourth race served as the feature at Benning, and jockey Gannon made it a double for himself when he piloted Sam Craig first across the winning line. Eleven started and Sam Craig had no trouble in disposing of them and won by three lengths. Jockey Ilelgesen swept the board from the third race on at New Urlcans. In the third he had to use all his skill to land Dodie S., in the colors of S. G. Morton, home in front. Dodie S. and Leenja fought it. out all through the last quarter and Helgesen outride Briwell when it came to the finish. J. Wambgans, who recently fell heir to a fortune, has decided to enter the racing at New Orleans. He bought Handspinner from "Doc" Strcett for ,500. Handspinner made his debut as a member of the stable of James R. Keene. J. Coombs will train him and also all the other horses that Mr. Wambgans will purchase. Statistics published today showed that James B. Haggin made a wonderful record with two-" year-olds bred at his Rancho de Paso and Elmendorf studs. He not only bred Savable and Irish Lad, the leading money-winning two-year-olds of the year, but also fifty-three other winning juveniles, fourteen of which in addition to the two mentioned above were stake win- ners.
