KING CHARMING, running in vastly improved form, set a fast early pace and, a-fter being passed, rallied and, racing QUARREL into defeat, outfinished SUNDAY BEST. The latter, off forwardly, was restrained until entering the stretch, where she slipped through next to the rail and finished fast and gamely. QUARREL showed excellent speed in the early running and raced into :i clear lead, but tired in the stretch. MAJORITY ran well. ROSA YETA was ridden extremely wide all the -way. PICNIC, after being saved under slight restraint in the early running, raced into the lead in the final eighth and won going away. CAHALAN, shuffled back on the backstretch, was brought on the outside on the last turn and, gradually improving his position, was going fastest of all in the final strides. WRAITH gained steadily all the way and finished fast. SWEEPY suffered from repeated interference anr ran a good race. DARK HORSE set a good pace and was hard ridden throughout, but quit in the final eighth. DOUGHNUT closed a big gap from a slow beginning. FLIBBERTYGIBBET ran poorly under a weak ride. KIRAH retired after going a half mile. ROMPING HOME showed the most speed and. setting a fast pace, raced RUDDY and FELSIDE into defeat in the first half mile and outstayed FOREST LORE at the end. The latter began slowly, bnt gradually improved his position on the outside and finished with a rush. CALADIUM began slowly and met with interference in the early running, but secured a clear course after entering the stretch and finished fast and gamely. FELSIDE raced in close pursuit of the winner to the last eighth, but tired when called on for a final effort. DAN E. OSULLIVAN was shuffled back in the first quarter, but finished fast and close up. WILKES-BAERE was in close quarters through the stretch. HOMESTRETCH was closing up fast at the finish. TUFTER, under slight rrstraint .in the early running, saved ground when entering the stretch and outfinished OVERTAKE in the final drive. The latter was in close quarters nearly all the way and, finishing gamely, would have been second in a few more strides. ALL OVER, while a forward contender, was ridden extremely wide on all the turns. YORKIST finished resolutely. SLIPPERY ELM tired after going three-quarters. DUNCECAP quit. NATURAL had a clear course all the way and, finishing fast, was wearing the winner down , at the end. ROYALLIEU began slowly, but gradually improved his position and finished fast, but was in close quarters behind the leaders through the stretch. TINGLING tired in the final quarter mile.
