ARMEDEE, away fast, took a clear lead in the first eighth and raced HAPPY MOMENTS into early defeat, then withstood a pressing challenge from CONUNDRUM. The latter ran well and made a game finish. BILLY BERN began slowly and was messed about and cut off at the head of the homestretch, but finished fast in the middle oi the track. JOSEPHINE K. ran well and was catching the winner with every stride. LADY FRAKES began slowly and had to be hard ridden all the way, but finished with a rush. HELIOCROSS was running fast at the end. The latter set a fast pace to tho stretch and tired, but finished gamely. QUAKER ran a good race, but tired in the stretch drive and finished 011 the outside of the leaders.
