PIEGAN rushed into a long lead in the first eighth and was under mild restraint for the remainder of the race. GONWITHIM tired after making a game rush at the eighth post. CONUNDRUM moved up when entering the homestretch, but tired. COURTIER showed speed, but appeared big and the race may improve him. ROCKABYE ran poorly in the going. SIR JACK began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. BLAISE tired after moving up into second place while rounding the last turn. AWNING quit after setting a fast early pace. The latter ran a good race, but tired nfter getting to the leader at the eighth post. MASTER HAND closed a big gap and finished with a rush. CHIEF SPONSOR raced gamely and finished close up. DUKE OF WEIJ.INGTON cut across in front while going to the first turn and took the lead, but had to be ridden out to outstay HOREB. The latter was in close quarters next to the inside rail in the stretch and might -lfavc won had lie been taken to the outside of the leader. RAN DHL had to come around on the outside to get up and was wearing the winner down at the end.
