OUR MAID raced JUANITA III. into defeat in the first half and, takiug the lead in the stretch, held it resolutely in the final drive. SUN TURRET ran well, but tired after making a menacing challenge at the sixteenth post. JACK HEALEY saved ground on the stretch turn and finished fast. HUMPY came wide on the last turn and lost enough ground to cost him the race. TOM CARO pulled up lame. JUANITA III. set a good pace to the stretch and quit. Scratched G72G9 Lt. Wm. J. Won driving; second and third the same. SUPERIOR raced in close quarters to the stretch, where he slipped through on the inside and raced into the lead, but was tiring at the end. DEERTRAIL raced into the lead and tired, but responded gamely when called on in the final drive. ARRAH GO ON set the early pace and came again after making a wide turn into the homestretch. MALLOAVMOT set a good pace, but tired ami had to be hard ridden to outstay HUEN. The latter closed a big gap and finished with a rush. BOND was eased up after going well for half mile.
