SALE OF LEXINGTON TRACK Organization of Central Kentucky KentuckyCitizens Citizens to Operate It as the theKentucky Kentucky Association LEXINGTON Ky January 17 Saying that he and former State Senator Thomas A Combs one of the leading citizens of Ken ¬ tucky have purchased the historic old Ken ¬ tucky Association track from the Kentucky Jockey Club and that the sale was ratified at the annual meeting of the stockholders in Louisville last Monday Thomas C Bradley Mayor of Lexington today stated that de ¬ tails of organization will be worked out rapidly as possible and an annuncement of plans will be made shortly shortlyThat That the track will be owned by an or ¬ ganization of central Kentucky people to be known as the Kentucky Association the name that has been an asset to racing since the original organization in 1826 is well understood The personnel will be made known in due course courseSenator Senator Camden said that the Kentucky Jockey Club of which he is president was prompted to make the sae of the property to Messrs Bradley and Combs because pri ¬ marily the people of the blue grass one of which he is feel that there is a distinctive ness and sentiment about the old Kentucky Association plant that was submerged when it was taken into the Kentucky Jockey Club and secondarily because this plant operated as it was under the Kentucky Jockey Clubs necessary proration of heavy overhead ex ¬ pense was not selfsustaining selfsustainingIt It is understood to be a part of the Ken ¬ tucky Association plan of operation to re ¬ turn to the old system of having a paid pre ¬ siding steward and two others unpaid to serve by invittaion as is the custom in Eng ¬ land and other countries and as was the custom in this country until a few years ago The State Racing Commission it is believed will sanction this
