GRAY DERBY CANDIDATE Keene Bros Alice Blue Gown Re ¬ ported in Fine Condition at Louisville Record Good LEXINGTON Ky March 13 Although he has been very busy at Ashland the last few months superintending the construction of the racing plant which is being built there J O Keene general manager of the TriState Fair and Racing Association had a chance last week to go down to Louisville and look over the horses that he and his brother G IT Keene have in training there Stopping off at Lexington on his way Mr Keene seemed particularly enthusiastic about the splendid appearance and good form which Alice Blue Gown the beautifully bred gray threeyearold daughter of Luke McLuke and Carene by Grey Leg is showing showingThis This promising young filly started thirteen times last year and was unplaced on only three occasions In her initial appearance at Latonia on June 15 she was second to Dust Flower She won her next out at five and onehalf furlongs and was then beaten a head by Lady Gorham defeating Dust Flow ¬ er by six lengths In the Golden Rod Han j dicap she was second to Great Luck third to Betty Beall and Bright Tomorrow in the Fort Thomas Handicap beaten a neck and a head with Bo McMillan Donges Easter Bells and some of the best juveniles out last year finishing in the ruck She was beaten a neck by Oui Oui at threcrquarters mile over a muddy fall track at Latonia On October 25 at Latonia she won at threequarters in 1 12 easily defeating Blossom Time the I Pimlico Futurity winner by two lengths and on October 28 she madsj her last start of j the year in a threequarters dash at Latonia winning in 111 111As As Alice Blue Gown is so promising on looks and breeding and is a Derby eligible it is believed by some Lexington turf fans that she will repeat Regrets performance in the Kentucky Derby of 1915
