STARTLE IS IN FINE FETTLE FETTLEShe She and Others of Hewitt Estate EstateHorses Horses Entered in Important ImportantSaratoga Saratoga Stakes LEXINGTON Ky March 16 John I Smith had the II H Hewitt estate horses out for exercise yesterday at the Kentucky Association track and they all had good gallops and are ready to work The Ken ¬ tucky Derby trio Aspiration Metric and Banter probably will be worked Sunday morning Startle fouryearold daughter of Star Hawk and Inspiration never looked better in her life than she does right now Her condition and appearance is so impres ¬ sive in fact that W J Treacy of the Ken ¬ tucky Sale Company as agent entered her in the Saratoga Handicap the Saratoga Cup the Merchants and Citizens Handicap and the Delaware Handicap four of the im ¬ portant event for threeyearolds and over to be run at the great meeting at the Spa in August The threeyearolds and the two yearolds in the Hewitt string also were well entered in the Saratoga stakes which closed yesterday Easter Bell one of the outstanuV ing members of the string was entered in the Delaware Handicap HandicapThe The inquiries for catalogues indicate that this is going to be an exceptionally well at ¬ tended disposal sale and that many of the leading owners of horses in the East will be represented Locally the expectation is tliai Startle because of the desirability of her blood lines for breeding purposes will be in great demand by men who will desire to send her to the harem at the close of her racing career Breeding experts say that she will prove an ideal mate for stallions of the Ben Brush line particularly the sons of Broom ¬ stick
