WOODBINE SPRING STAKES Total of 20,000 to Be Distributed During Seven Days of Racing at Woodbine Park. TORONTO, Out.. April 9.— Secretary W. P. Eraser today announced the stakes for the Ontario Jockey Club spring meeting. May 19 to May LK. entries for which close on Wednesday. May 2. The total purees for flat racing and steeplechasing amount to 20,000 in seven days. As usual the Toronto Cup heads the list with 0. JO added. This is followed by the Connaught Cup. ,000 added, for Canadian owned h:rses; the King Edward Gold Cup, £5.000 added: William Hendrie Memorial. 15,000 added, for three-year-olds and over foaled in Canada; . odstock Plate. $."..000 added, for three-year Ids ; Victoria Stakes. fG.OOO added, for two-year-olds ; Coronation Stakes. 5,000 added, for two-year-olds foaled in Canada. Then follow the two stakes for steeplechasing, Woodbine Steeplechase, 18,000 added, and Aintree Steeplechase formerly Street Pail-way Steeplechase, 15.000 added, the former two miles and the latter about two miles and a half.
