QUINCY STABLE FOR 1923 — ♦ Twenty-Three Horses to Carry Colors of James F. Johnson. * James Fitzsimninns, Jr., Will Train Dosorls BtabiS and One Horse for S. I.. Jenkins During the Coming Season. NEW YORK, X. V.. April 11.-Trainer James Fitzsimmons is hard at work preparing the twenty-three horses that will carry the colors of the Quincy Stable of James F. Johnson this year. The horses have wintered well at the Aqueduct track and now that the weather is moderating they are given daily exercise over the Queens County .loeky Club track. Captain Alcock. the chief dependence of the stable irr handicap races, is now a six-year-old. He has come through the winter in excellent condition arrd his preparation is advancing rapidly. He should be ready for the colors wlihin a few weeks. Playfellow, the brother cf Man ©" War which has won most of his fame in the courts, has filled out wonderfully during the long winter and looks like an excellent prospect. If appearance means racing success he could readily be considered worth the 00,000 purchase price which Mr. Johnson was forced to return to 11. F. Sinclair after much litigation. BELAY AM» KAY JAY. The dependable four-year-olds Belay and Bay Jay are also going along well. They are both fine prospects for this years handicap racing on the strength of their three-year-old form last year. Biuemont and Caveat Kmptor are probably the best of the stables three-year-old stake candidates. Both showed well in the later racing of 1922 as juveniles and since they have come through trie winter without mishap must be considered seriously among the 1922 three-year-olds. Trainer Fitzsimmor.s plans to send a division of the Quincy Stable horses to Pimlico to race at the Maryland Jockey Clubs spiing meeting. Those which have advanced enough I I in their training to be ready for a race will be sent to the Maryland track and it is considered likely that the copper and cardinal I | will be carried by one or more starters in the $."0.000 Preahuesu. Jockeys J. Mooney and K. Barnes are under contract to the Quincy Stable. James Fitzs mmons.
