CHURCHILL DOWNS NEWS William Dondas, supervisor of pari-mutu els at Huntington, Omaha and other tracks, was among Thursdays arrivals and he will remain until after the Derby. Colonel Winn was notified by wire that Herbert Swope of the New York World would arrive Friday night on the special train that will bring the Whitney, Cosden and Sinclair parlies. It. F. Carman, who won the 1911 Kentucky Derby with Meridian, is an arrival at Douglas Park with five two-year-olds, all sired by his Derby winner. The most promising of the quintette is a colt that has been named Excuse Me. Jockey Harry Gray was struck in the eye by a clod while riding Ballot Brush W dnesday and as a result will not be able to tide for several days. He had beet. scheduled to ride Lady Gorham in the lirst race Thursday and the filly was withdrawn on account of his inability to ride her.
