TORONTO, May 17.— The track conditions will have much to do with the outcome of the Kings Plate 0,000 race on Saturday afternoon, the feature of the opening day at Woodbine. The prospects are for a field of probably a dozen starters. If the track is heavy there may not be so many starters, but such condition would give at least three of the candidates a royal chance that might not do so well on a fast track. They are the Seagram Stables Flowerful, H. Giddings Honeys Jewel and Mrs. L. A. Livingstons My Solace, all of which have shown they can run well in the mud. The Thorncliffc Stable has decided to start both of its horses. Trail Rlazer is considered a real good mud runner, while Ocean Crest will show to better advantage on a fast track. These two have been in-; stalled as the public favorites, The Seagram Stable may start all three of their entries, and the Brookdale Stable will likely send both Vespra and Maypole to the post if the track conditions are suitable. J. C. Fletchers Cheechako is expected to dj better if the track is fast. The same goes for Charles Millars Rallim. These two are the most serious contenders for the rich stakes. J. E. Smallmans Game Scrapper and Ed Glasscos Mickey are doubtful starters. While weather conditions have been wretched all week it is expected that there will be a turn for the better, so that there will be ideal weather for the Kings Plate on Saturday. The Woodbine course being of a light soil dries out rapidly and in twenty-four hours changes from mud to a lightning fast track. The following are the probable starters in the Kings Plate : Horse.
