JAMAICA NEWS BRIEFS Samuel Louis of Kansas City was among the arrivals. Trainer J. P. Smith will take All Fair, Bunga Ruck, Donaghee and Normana to Woodbine for the meeting which opens Saturday. He will return to the Metropolitan circuit following the close at Toronto. Several of the star riders left Jamaica today for Kentucky, to ride in the Derby Saturday. E. Sande left to ride Zev ; B. Marinelli to ride Vigil ; C. Robinson to ride Genera! Thatcher and L. McAtee to ride one of the Whitney stars. Harry E. Springer, veteran racing man, died Wednesday at a New York sanitarium from a complication of ailments which had kept him in poor health for ten y a:s. Spring r received an injury to his foot in the Han Francisco earthquake and an infection developed, which finally resulted fatally. Because Dunsandel had never before been known to bleed a veterinary examination was ordered after the first race. The horse was found to be in great distress and showed symptoms of poisoning. It was necessary to give him an injection in the paddock before he could be taken back to his stable. I
