j THOMAS MAHER PASSES AWAY NEW YORK, N. Y.. Jan. 9. Thomas Ma-her, superintendent of the Jamaica race track for the past twenty years, died at his home, which is located on the Metropolitan Jockey Club , grounds, Saturday. He was seventy-seven years of age. The funeral will be held from St. Mary Magdalene Church, Springfield, Long Island, Tuesday morning at 10 oclock. For several years Mr. Maher has not been in active charge of the course, the duties of his position devolving upon his son Thomas.
