FRENCH TRAINING RECORDS American Trainers Show Good Percentage of Winners in France for Season 1923. PARIS, France, Jan. 16. Jerry Welsh, trainer of the J. E. Widener stable in France, made the best showing of all the American trainers in this country for 1923. He saddled seventy-six horses for a total of eighteen victories and a percentage of .2369. Galen Brown, who handled the two-year-old fillies of the A. K. Macomber stabl?, was next witli four winners out of seventeen starters for a percentage of .2352. William Duke, who trains the big stable 1 of Prince Aga Khan, sent 181 horses to the : post during the year and thirty-four of these were winners. His percentage was .1SS2. ; Eugene Leigh saddled eleven winners out of seventy-eight starters. He handled the 1 horses of Pierre Wertheimer, including the 1 crack Epinard. Wallace Davis, who handled the horses of the Greek owner, N. Ambaticlos, saddled eleven winners out of 102 starters, and Thomas Murphy, who trained the main division of the A. K.
