Won driving; second and third the - same. SLIPPERY ELM, good in the going, raced into the lead after rounding the stretch turn and 7 appeared beaten when an eighth out, but came again and wore SEA-WOLF down to win in the last few strides. SEA-WOLF, probably best, closed a big gap and raced into the lead when a sixteenth out, but a weak ride and some bumping he received near the end caused him to tire. CAPTAIN COSTIGAN set a fast early pace, but tired in the stretch. ROYAL DICK had no mishaps. KNOT T GRASS quit badly in the stretch. McINTOSH showed speed. JOHN FINN, also going wide for most of the race, came f with a rush in the last eighth. AMOLE shewed speed, but began tiring when reaching the stretch. FLYING DEVIL ran a good race and saved much ground when ccming into the stictch, but tired slightly in the last seventy yards. i. TONY BEAU was far back to the stretch, but finished with a belated rush. JOHN PAUL JONES ran " fairly well. nERMIS KEMBLE dropped back after going the first quarter.
